ICONOGRAPHY

In the only passage of mystery the encounter imagines, in the street of the Bitterness, the Gentleman with its Mother, in company of San Juan and the Holy Women.

AUTHORS OF THE IMAGES

     D. Antonio Lastrucci Castle the Gentleman in 1943 did and the following year he carved the Virgin Santísima and the Holy Women. The image of San Juan is of D. Jesu's Méndez Lastrucci, great-grandchild of the previous one, made in 2002. The Gentleman and the Virgin were recovered in 1979 by Juan Abascal Sources.

DETAILS

      The Gentleman takes Cross with reinforcements of silver golden of Villarreal, donated in 1991. The Virgin takes diadema of silver of law golden with ivory miniatures, of Villarreal (2002) and dagger of golden silver, of Dry Manuel Velasco (1956); blue mantle embroidered in the Convent of Nuns of Sherry (1963) and saya garnet embroidered in fine gold, of Muñoz Mercy, donated in 1992. San Juan takes aureole of silver of law of Villarreal (2002).

MYSTERY PASSAGE 

He is neobaroque, gilded, illuminated by candelabra of windshields. It came to replace previous, also the neobaroque one and gilded, released in 1960.

It has stature of D. Antonio Martín Fernandez and reliefs and chapels of D. Manuel Carmona Sanchez. The gilded one is of D. Bald Manuel. Released in 1993 and finished in the Easter of 2002. It takes caller of silver of Villarreal (1994).

We remembered that the iconography of cartelas and chapels was studied, at the request of our Brotherhood, by the Iltmo. Mr. D. Jose Combed Luis, canon of the Cathedral of Seville.

The advantage of our step is dedicated to the Salvation , through the food. In the central chapel the Cenacle imagines. In cartela of the vent it appears the shield of the Brotherhood.

The lateral one straight alludes to the Church . It will preside over the central chapel in which the Spirit imagines Santo. To its right the Announcement and its left the Baptism of Christ. In the vent, it presides over cartela in which one imagines the Church. To its right, cartela dedicated to the Students and their left to Santo Tomás.

Lateral the left one is dedicated to the Resurrection and .redemption. In the central chapel of the basket the Resurrection of the Gentleman imagines. In cartelas, to its right, the Ascent and to the left the Holy Women before the tomb. In the vent, it presides over cartela in which one imagines the three crossings. To its right San Juan Evangelista and the left the Virgin Santísima.

The back is dedicated to the entailment of the Brotherhood with the City . In the chapel of the basket it appears the Stma. Virgin of the Carmen and in cartela of the vent, San José.
